    Description

    Original U.S. Civil War Mounted Infantry Greatcoat Issued in 1862 by W. Button N.Y.C.
    This is an original Regulation U.S. Civil War Mounted Infantry Great Coat in very nice plus condition. The coat is a Sky-Blue Wool, double breasted with 12 gold gilt eagle buttons, stand and fall collar with over Cape to top off cuffs. The Cape has 12 gold gilt eagle buttons. All buttons are original and none were ever replaced. There are marker marks stamped in the upper sleeves. The coat was made by Worthington B. Button 326 Broadway NYC. This coat was issued in 1862 - 1863.
    The coats were produced in two versions, for mounted and dismounted soldiers, each bearing slightly different characteristics.
