The Tonga half Paanga banknote was released by the National Reserve Bank of Tonga in 1983. The banknote comes with brown and blue color combinations. Its obverse depicts the countrys coat of arms and a portrait of King Taufaahau Tupou IV. The banknotes reverse illustrates palm trees and five men harvesting copra. The 150 x 70 mm paper bill was printed by Thomas De La Rue Limited and bears a solid security thread.
