Scarce Adirondack Vintage Booklet BLUE MOUNTAIN HOUSE (Inn) Blue Mtn Lake NY. This difficult to find 32 page book or booklet is titled, AN OLD TIME INN - BLUE MOUNTAIN HOUSE and was authored by William Wessels and published in 1972 by Adirondacks Resort Press of Lake George, NY. It is the story of the beginnings and life of The Blue Mountain House Inn which occupied the grounds of the current Adirondack Experience Museum. From its beginnings as a simple log cabin to a wood frame hotel and annex and out camps. Tyler Merwin owned and operated the Inn for 60 years before selling to author Wessels, but only after several stipulations we're agreed to, the least not being that no alcohol ever be served or consumed on the property. This booklet is full of wonderful stories of Merwin and family  as well as of The Wessels.  After operating the Inn for many years Wessels developed a plan to preserve the history of The Adirondacks by way of a museum and enlisted the help of Harold Hochschild, owner of Eagle's Nest and after much organization the property was sold to the group who formed the Adirondack Museum. Along with the great stories and anecdotes there are several wonderful full page photos of the Inn as well as the annex and original log cabin inn. I could not find this book for sale on eBay or on any out of print or used book sites. The condition is very good and it is AUTHOR SIGNED BY WILLIAM WESSELS.
