This is an incredible custom-made 2-blade folding knife made by Wayne Beck of North Carolina. It is hard to tell from the photos but this knife is HUGE! A few knife collectors I have talked to think that this was made more for an exhibition piece or display piece as it is just so large. The knife when folded measures 11-7/8" long. When opened with both blades out, the total length is 25". The large blade is almost 9" long; the small blade is 4" long. It is also very heavy at 1 lb. 14 oz.It is made of a very nice exotic wood with solid copper fittings and brass pins. On both sides there is a lot of file work. On the back the blades are completely filed with a typical design and the 2 arrows that point to the Beck stamp. The blades are in very nice condition. I have not done anything to them. They are very tight and snap in nicely. There are a couple spots of oxidation but they are very small. I have not heavily cleaned the copper; I just went over it with a soft rag to make it shine.
I have not found out a lot of information about Wayne Beck but the few knives I have seen for sale have sold for 0+ and they were very small normal size pocket knives. This one is too large to use so it was most likely used as a sample, a display model, or maybe an exhibition piece at a show. It is a crazy large knife!
I do think this knife has quite a bit of age but since I cannot find much on Wayne Beck, I'm only guessing by saying it is from the 1950s or 1960s? I do know it is one of the coolest folding knives I have seen. The look of the copper and steel file work mixed with the reddish wood make this a truly stunning piece.
