    Brigham Young (1801-1877)
    was an American religious leader, politician and settler.  He was the second president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormonism) from 1844 until his death.  Young directed the migration of 16,000 Mormons from Illinois to Utah from 1846 to 1852.  He founded Salt Lake City and served as first governor of the Utah Territory.
