The Grindhouse Knives TMAx Flipper designed and built by Sam Jones is a bit thicker and beefier than the TMA delivering a compact yet seriously robust folder. A long flipper tab, hefty blade and ball bearing pivot deliver ultra-fast deployment with tank like lock up afforded by the titanium frame lock. This version comes with a striking Iguana pattern, Chad Nichols Stainless Damascus blade, Marbled Carbon Fiber handle scale and blue anodized titanium liner and frame.
Blade: Made of stunning Iguana pattern Chad Nichols Stainless Damascus, the toucan-like blade of the TMAx has just over 2.5 inches of straight cutting edge with a shallow hollow grind for good slicing while retaining good durability. A generous forward swedge tapers the blade to a strong point for piercing and fine work. The forward choil allows for good control with aggressive jimping on the spine and index flipper guard for added security. Deployment on the ball bearing pivot is fast, smooth and decisive.
Handle: At nearly 5 mm thick, the blue anodized titanium frame delivers rock solid lock up and a robust foundation for this compact folder. Dual spacers offer an easy to maintain, open back construction, connecting the frame to the matching titanium liner opposite. Handsome and lightweight, a Marbled Carbon Fiber scale on the front offers added style and warmth in the hand. Construction is completed with bronze anodized titanium hardware and a generous lanyard hole.
Carries via a right hand, tip-up, 'Unobtanium' titanium pocket clip.
Nichols Stainless Damascus: Stainless Damascus offers the performance of a modern stainless steel while delivering a unique look from the pattern welded layers and acid etched finish. Available in multiple patterns, stainless Damascus gives a knife a striking and singular look. Nichols Damascus is composed of AEB-L and 304 delivering excellent corrosion resistance and toughness with good hardness for edge retention.
