This is a fabulous purple/puce 18" by 13.5" Thanksgiving Turkey Platter by Crown Ducal, Tunstall, England. This earthenware beauty is marked on the back with makers information, as well as pattern name. On the front it features turkeys and a colonial homestead scene, followed with the words "THANKSGIVING DAY" at the bottom. The border is filled with scenes of colonial American times such as Pocahontas saving the life of John Smith, The Mayflower in two scenes and Native Americans. There are no chips or cracks. There is typical crazing in the glaze.
Displays very well!
