    believe this to be the date as my father was a WWII US Navy Veteran and he got this in 1943 at a stop over to New Caledonia.

    This note has minor tears on the left side as pictured.  It is in otherwise very good condition and is not thinning or decaying.   The water mark is clear.  See photos.
